We enjoyed a ride to Plano today. We used our trusty yelp to help to find someplace new to try. This place stood out. With great reviews and lots of fun photos. We started with the chicken soup with triangle noodles. This might be the best soup I've had in a while. It was fragrant from the moment they placed it on the table. The crunchy radish was a nice contrast to the soft noodles. The broth was tasty and the chicken was plentiful and tender. You have your choice of noodles. All made fresh in house. We chose the triangle just because it was different. They were amazing. Orange chicken was fresh and very flavorful orange sauce. It came with a side of white rice. Very generous portion. The pork and crab soup dumplings were lovely. Fresh, a nice amount of broth and meat, and the wrapper was thin with a nice chew. I also enjoyed the traditional black tea service. Service was wonderful. And they even played with our baby when she started getting tired of sitting. Over all a very nice find and highly recommend.
Walked in for a Sunday lunch and they had plenty of seating. Restaurant looks clean. I ordered the beef noodle soup. Soup arrived fairly quickly.. maybe 5-10min? It was delicious. Kinda wanting to go back just to eat it. The soup is kinda oily but that's normal/expected. Would like to have drank more of the soup but tried to refrain myself from having too much, lol. They give you a lot of noodles btw. I couldn't even finish it. I wouldn't mind if they gave me less noodles but I know most people would appreciate it. I think I'll try it with thinner noodles next time.. and I also want to try their dumplings.
I have been to Hongyuan 3 times, and have consistently enjoyed my experience each time. You are able to choose the type of noodle you want, and I always go for wide noodles. I really enjoy Hongyuan's dan dan noodle. It is a bit strong in the peanut taste, but that's just what I like. Both the soup dumplings and wontons are well made, authentic, and delicious. The atmosphere is not as busy as I would expect for such an authentic taste, so don't worry about wait times or parking! There's plenty of room for all. The food at Hongyuan just seems to be made with amazing ingredients and care for detail. Not to mention our server, who was very sweet and attentive to our table's needs. I'm always on the lookout for authentic Chinese restaurants and am happy to add Hongyuan to the list!
Bottom line: in my opinion, Hong Yuan has the best xiao long bao in the DFW area My friends and I decided to come try this restaurant after it was featured on a few local food blogs, and we were not disappointed! They specialize in hand pulled noodles and homemade dumplings. We ordered the xiao long bao (juicy pork dumplings), potstickers, beef noodles, and a sautéed veggie. The XLB skin was perfectly chewy and the filling and soup were incredibly flavorful. I also enjoyed the beef noodle soup (especially the knife cut noodles) but the seasoning in the broth was a little heavy handed. Everything else was also tasty, and I will definitely be back!
Dinner at Hongyuuan Dumpling and Noodle in Plano. Northern Chinese, outstanding! Hand pulled noodles are so long, a pair of scissors were provided. Dumplings were delicious.
4/5 Food 5/5 Service Came here on a rainy evening and was quickly seated with a friendly face. The food came out fairly fast! We enjoyed the mapo tofu and pig ear in chili oil. They weren't spicy (good for me), but the mapo tofu kept its classic numbing sensation to it. The beef noodle soup with slightly thick noodles were exactly what I was looking for on a chilly, raining night. There was a good chew to the noodles and tenderness to the beef. Look forward to coming back again.
Have been here multiple times and finally tried the soup Dumplings. Pretty high quality, reminds me of Din Tai Fung. Most of the Dumplings stayed intact when I picked them up, and they were full of tasty umami soup. You can never go wrong with the beef noodles. Usually comes out within 5 min. I like to add some vinegar and a ton of chili oil. Super quick service. Highly recommend!
This used to be the old Noodle House location. We ordered the staples: cucumber salad appetizer, XLB, house special stir fried noodles with the thicker noodles, and beef pancakes. Cucumber salad portion was generous & the beef pancakes were great. The XLB was ok, the skin was a bit thick so would not order again. Our favorite by far was the noodles. The thicker style gave it an al dente texture. Service was attentive. Will try the soup noodles next time!
Found this place at the suggestion of Yelp! Conveniently located at the corner of Park and Coit in Plano, we walked in shortly after opening for lunch today at 11AM, and were warmly greeted then seated by Sijia. Walking in, you are immediately transported to a different realm with vibrant energy and a traditional dining space . What intrigued me the most before visiting for the first time today were the vast available varieties and options (example: chicken, shrimp, beef, tofu, egg, and noodle size preference), the description of the Menu items, and the listed ingredients of each dish. Ordered a pot of Hot Jasmine Tea for Mom and me to share, followed by the Beef Roll Pancake and Chicken Stir-Fried Noodles. Sijia was very attentive and sweet and ensured we had everything we needed during our meal. The Hot Jasmine Tea was the perfect accompaniment to what we ordered. Both dishes were just the right portion for the two of us to share - it was delicious - from start to finish. Everyone we encountered on our first visit was very polite. It appeared there were several servers for different sections. It seemed to get busy about an hour after we arrived, but being a weekend, that was to be expected. The Beef Roll Pancake had flaky layers with dimensions, noticeable depth, and contrast of flavor imparted by the combination of Hoisin Sauce and Green Onions. The Chicken Stir-Fried Noodles had the perfect chewy texture and achieved the most beautifully melded flavors from the onions, red and green peppers, and carrots. I already know what I am ordering on our next visit and we plan to return often.
Love that there is a new authentic noodle place in town! We got the string beans, xiao long bao, chive pockets, and Singapore mei fun. Everything delicious and came out hot! Very attentive, kept filling out cups with water! We'll be back to get some more noodles!
